FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Florida Panthers today unveiled and re-opened the historic and revitalized War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale for concerts, private events and more.
The newly revitalized music venue features 44,000 square feet of versatile space with a 3,500-person capacity general admission floor and the new addition of a premium seated mezzanine level. With the addition of modern amenities, state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, four large artist dressing rooms, multiple bars and VIP seating areas, War Memorial Auditorium is Fort Lauderdale’s newest premier entertainment destination for a variety of musical genres.
“With the completion of the revitalized War Memorial Auditorium, we are extremely proud to now operate a small-scale multi-use entertainment district with a live entertainment venue, two sheets of ice, a retail store and full-service restaurant and bar in Fort Lauderdale’s largest park, Holiday Park,” said Panthers President & CEO Matt Caldwell. “We look forward to hosting a diverse variety of artists with Live Nation ensuring both the artists and the South Florida community have a first-class experience when they attend War Memorial Auditorium for concerts or private events.”
War Memorial Auditorium’s opening shows include a variety of concerts from different musical genres including Melissa Etheridge (Jan. 21), Wallows (Feb. 24) and The Driver Era (March 7) with more announcements forthcoming. General admission and mezzanine level tickets can be purchased at SeatGeek.com or at War Memorial Box Office.
As part of the project, the Panthers honored and renovated all veteran art and monuments around the venue including the merchant marine monument outside the venue, the red flags along the exterior walkway which represents soldier art, one plaque representing Broward County veterans that served in the Vietnam War and a second plaque representing those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the nation. Overlooking the main lobby from the top of the wall, patrons will find a soldier statue which serves as a representation of all Broward County soldiers.
